Your website is often the first impression a potential customer has of your business. If it looks or performs like it belongs to a different decade, that impression can cost you the sale before a conversation even starts. Here are five signs it’s time to invest in a redesign.

1. It takes more than 3 seconds to load

Page speed directly affects both user experience and search rankings. If your homepage takes several seconds to load on mobile, a meaningful share of visitors will leave before it finishes.

2. It isn’t mobile-friendly

More than half of web traffic now comes from phones. A site that wasn’t built responsively, or was patched to “sort of” work on mobile, will show cramped text, broken layouts, or buttons that are hard to tap.

3. Updating content requires a developer

If every small text change or new page means waiting on a developer, your team is spending time and budget on work that a modern content management setup should let you do yourself.

4. Your design doesn’t match your current brand

Businesses evolve — services change, positioning shifts, visual identity matures. A site that hasn’t kept pace can undersell what you actually offer today.

5. Conversions have stalled despite steady traffic

If people are visiting but not converting into leads or customers, the problem is often the site itself: unclear calls to action, confusing navigation, or a slow, frustrating experience.

What to do about it

A redesign doesn’t have to mean starting from zero. Often the fastest path is an audit of what’s actually underperforming, followed by a focused rebuild of the pages and flows that matter most. If any of the signs above sound familiar, that’s a good place to start the conversation.
